I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) with over 24 years of experience, working with clients in private practice, outpatient clinic and primary care settings. I received my MSW from the Simmons Graduate School of Social Work in 1996; I opened my private practice in 1999. My areas of specialized training include trauma, addictions and ACOA recovery, as well as couples therapy. My current work incorporates Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, and other mind-body approaches.
In addition, I work with Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), providing college students and professionals with evaluations and short-term treatment focused on interpersonal conflicts, work/life balance, academic and work performance problems, stress management and career coaching.
Prior to my clinical career, I worked as a writer/editor, tutor, and publicist in higher education and health care, both in non-profit and for-profit sectors. I also am a creative writer and musician. This background, combined with my training in meditation and visualization, helps me to work with clients interested in overcoming writer's block, performance anxiety and other obstacles to creating and learning.
